This JDM model boasts 23 more horsepower than it's U.S./Cdn CR-X Si counterpart. It was available with a 5-speed manual or 4-speed automatic transmission. A glass top or powered sun roof were optional equipment available for this model. Note that the glass top is apparently a rare find. |

SiR
The CR-X SiR used the B16A VTEC engine, which provided an additional 30hp over the Si model. It was only available with a 5-speed manual transmission. Honda's ALB (Anti-Lock Braking) system was also an option for the SiR, which was not available on the Si model. A glass top or powered sun roof were optional equipment available for this model. Note that the glass top is a rare find. |
Please note that there is inconsistent information about the date of manufacture for the CR-X SiR model. Sources from Honda's historic web site indicates that the SiR was first manufactured in September 1987. However, other sources indicate that it wasn't manufactured until 1989. Thus far, we have only seen 1989 CR-X SiR's on the used market in Japan, but that does not necessarily mean there isn't any earlier years produced. We shall keep our eyes open for earlier models and update this info accordingly. If you encounter earlier models, please inform us so we can keep this information up-to-date and accurate.
